Painted Paper Lantern

Once your child tries painting in the round, he may never go back to flat paper!

- Paint
- Lantern cord kit

Place a rice paper lantern (available at some discount stores such as Target and at www.paperlanternstore.com in a saucepan to keep it from rolling. Using watercolor paints and a soft brush, your child can create her design. Turn the saucepan, not the lantern, to paint each new section. Let the top portion dry before you flip the lantern to paint the bottom. When all the paint has dried, hang your lovely spring lantern as is or wire it with a lantern cord kit, add a lightbulb, and illuminate!
